Let your donors in! Sounds funny but in reality, organizations tend to to focus on extrinsic things that do not have value to a donor.
Organizations should allow donors into the organization by being more transparent. Be upfront about how much of every dollar goes to program. Be specific about the amount it takes to deliver programs. Break down your costs for program and provide donors with information about where the money goes. Help donors understand the reasons for administrative costs.
Donors want to be in “the know”. Don’t make them second guess what you are doing. Show them, explain it to them. Take time to help donors understand how the organization operates and where their money is spent. Donors care and they care that you as an organization are good stewards of the financial resources they give.
